5 Things Contract Professionals Should Be Thankful For

Here’s a list of five things contract professionals should be thankful for and find helpful in the post-Thanksgiving days.

  1. US Government Purchasing: This is seems so obvious, but it’s easy to forget. The federal government is the primary source of income for many companies and individuals.
  2. BetterBuy: Feel like nobody is listening? This group definitely will. Add your thoughts on improving federal acquisitions. Ideas can be contributed in three areas: (a) Market Research & Requirements Definition, (b) Pre-Solicitation Phase, and (c) Solicitation Phase.
  3. GovLoop: This is a great social network dedicated to improving government at all levels. I’m only a recent convert, but I’m hooked. Sign-up and friend me.
  4. GPS Devices: For those of us who get lost, this is a life saver…particularly at remote worksites.
  5. Project Management Hut: While project management is a different field from contracts, they are both related. This should be first stops when you have project question because it has extensive archives.

  3. James,

That sounds great. I primarily focus on making the contract profession easier to understand (usually with breaking down complex language and providing internet technology reviews). What would you like me to contribute that would benefit your readers?

    Best,
